T-Mobile Samsung Exhibit II T679 receives LE1 android 2.3.6 firmware update

T-Mobile Samsung Exhibit II T679 receives LE1 android 2.3.6 firmware update

Just a few days the T-Mobile version Samsung Galaxy S II received its android 4.0 ICS firmware update. When the android 4.0 is still on its way to some of the T989 device that wait for it, another firmware update was sent out via OTA and also Samsung Kies. That is the android 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware update for the Samsung Exhibit II T679.

To Samsung T679 users, you know you can’t expect the android 4.0 arrive to your handset, but your phone is still running on android 2.3.5, so, upgrade the ROM to android 2.3.6 is also a big candy for your phone.

Besides the OS version will be pushed to android 2.3.6, the 33MB package also brings some improvements and enhancements to your Samsung Exhibit II, such as:

Google Security Fix
Device stability improvements
Wi-Fi Calling audio improvements
Camera app improvements
Swype corporate email improvements

To avoid data fee that may be caused during the OTA update process, I advise you upgrade the firmware via the last Samsung Kies software, you can find the software update tool here. Then if you check the phones software version, you should find the phone’s name was changed to be Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G. Though the name is changed, I don’t think it will be able to enjoy the android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the future.
